Statewide Illinois Library Catalog - (SILC)
The
Statewide Illinois Library Catalog (SILC) is Illinois' first
statewide
union catalog. SILC integrates WorldCat and the Illinois Library Systems'
regional online catalogs to provide both shelf status and
interlibrary loan capabilities
in a single searchable interface. SILC allows users to scope to regional
groups within Illinois, as well as by type of library. Records
located using SILC
contain links to local shared catalogs showing if an item is available
for loan and allowing the user to request the item.
