Attention public libraries: Every Library in ILLINET (ELI) may now be accessed to update information for the Public Library Per Capita Grant Application. To update your ELI record:  Go to http://eliillinois.org/, click on "My Library Account," log in with User Name and Password, find your library's record by locating your library with Quick Search, edit Trustee information.  The certification is displayed on your public record for you to print when you have saved your changes.  Grant applications must be postmarked on or before October 16, 2006, or hand delivered to the Illinois State Library no later than 4:30 p.m. on October 16, 2006.  If you have already submitted your Per Capita Application without the signed certificate, submit the certification as soon as possible.

Friends of the Mahomet Public Library and the Rotary Club of Mahomet are sponsoring a 5K Run/Walk and Pancake and Sausage Breakfast to benefit the library's building fund.  The event will take place on Saturday, November 18, at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve with breakfast served in the Pavilion.  Breakfast is free for race registrants, $5 for spectators, and will be served from 8-10:00 a.m.  For further information and a registration brochure, see the library's Web site at http://www.mahometpubliclibrary.org.

Friends of the Champaign Public Library will hold their bi-annual used book sale at the JBJ Centre, 723 South Neil Street, Champaign.  A pre-sale for Friends members will be held October 13 from 4-8 p.m., the public sale will be October 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and bargain day will be October 15 from 1-5 p.m.  For more information, see the library’s Web site at http://www.champaign.org.

The Latino Partnership of Greater Champaign County is hosting a Fiesta to showcase social services and public agencies on October 22 from 1-4 p.m. at the McKinley Foundation, Westminster Hall, 809 S. 5th St., Champaign. The Fiesta is designed to give organizations a forum for sharing informational materials and resources with the Latino Community in Champaign County.
