Milford District Library is hosting a presentation and book signing with author Philip Gulley on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at 7 p.m.  A native of Danville, Indiana, Gulley offers humor and insight with his writings on the celebration of small-town life.  His new book is Almost Friends.  Contact the library for tickets at 815-889-4722.

Congratulations to Carol Arnold who will mark her 35th anniversary at Hoopeston Public Library District on August 14, 2006.  She is the Children’s Librarian.

Lost book:  The St. Joseph Township Library (SJN) is missing a Daniel Silva book and asks that you look for it on your fiction shelves.  The hardcover book entitled The Confessor was put in delivery back to SJN by Chrisman Public Library in late February or early March and still has not arrived.

PBS Video is offering Eyes on the Prize, America’s Civil Rights Movement 1954-1985, in DVD format.  It is a comprehensive and authoritative series of programs devoted to the American civil rights movement.  The series is due out on October 1, 2006, and the price will be $375.  However, the price for all orders received by September 30, 2006 will be $350.  For more information, contact Jim Hjordis and Jim Garner, PBS Video, at 800-677-7067 or hjgarner@sbcglobal.net.
