What is LTLS PDA Connect?
LTLS PDA Connect is a free service designed by the Lincoln Trail Libraries System to enable people who use PDAs (portable handheld devices) to have selected information about LTLS and its member libraries conveniently located on their PDA.

LTLS has developed this PDA-friendly web site with content formatted to fit the small screen of your hand-held device. You download the LTLS PDA web pages when you sync your device to your desktop PC, so the information is frequently updated.

Who can use LTLS PDA Connect ?
LTLS PDA Connect is freely available at no cost to any interested user.

What content is provided?
LTLS PDA Connect includes a subset of the information available on our main web site. The PDA information has been specifically created to include essential information such as library hours, contact information, directions, phone and fax numbers, upcoming library event schedule, and more .

What do I need to use PDA Connect ?
All you need to take advantage of the service is a PDA, a PC where you can "sync" the PDA, and an Internet connection on the PC.

The PDA itself does not have to be connected to the Internet in order to use the LTLS PDA service. The LTLS information gets placed on your PDA when you "sync" the PDA to your PC desktop computer which is connected to the Internet.

I want it! How do I get started?
Its easy! It's free! Just click the following link to add the LTLS or member library PDA pages to your hand-held device. Select the library information you would like to place on your PDA by clicking the appropriate link. Follow the prompts to load the appropriate conduit to your PDA and you will have the LTLS PDA information in the palm of your hand in no time.

Tell me more about what happens when I sign up.
Here are the easy steps to set up your PDA to receive LTLS PDA content:
1. First, Go to this link to add the LTLS or member library PDA pages to your hand-held device, and select the library content you wish to add to your PDA.

That takes you to the AvantGo site and walks you through the steps to add the LTLS Palm info to your Palm. If you are a new AvantGo user, you'll need to register first. You only have to do that once. If you already have an AvantGo login, enter your name and password and the LTLS content will be uploaded on your next sync.

2. If you do not already have an Avantgo login, follow the prompts leading to downloading the Avantgo software to the desktop PC you use to synch your device. This process puts the Avantgo application into your device's conduit upload folder where it will be put on your device during your next sync along with the LTLS-specific channel info.

3. After your next sync you should have a new application on your palm called Avantgo. Open that application to view the LTLS PDA pages.

Can I get specific information about my local library on my PDA?

Yes, in addition to the LTLS PDA pages, we have also created links for you to place directory information for your favorite LTLS libraries on your device. You may view a listing of the library directory pages currently available for download.
