HORIZON 8.0 UPDATE

A group of volunteers has been working with Lincoln Trail to test Horizon 8.0. We have heard that this product will be released sometime in April but Lincoln Trail will not upgrade until version 8.1 is ready. We expect this version to be available sometime in the fall of 2006.

A test version of the new Horizon 8.0 PAC has also been released just this week. If you are interested in seeing this product, send an email to Pat Boze, pboze@lincolntrail.info and the url will be forwarded to you.

SCHOOL LIBRARIES – SUMMER RECESS

As the school year winds to a close, remember to notify us about important dates so we can change your settings in Horizon. Please send an email to Helen Neal, hneal@lincolntrail.info, with the following information:
-Date for "turning off" holds
-Date for "turning on" holds (if known)
-Date you want to use as a "fixed due date" (last day of school, etc.)
-Date you want the above "fixed due date" implemented

Also, remember to update your school calendar (Calendar Exceptions) in Horizon to reflect the summer days the library will be closed.

NEW REPORTS IN HORIZON WEBREPORTER

In the new version of WebReporter (version 1.4v.b4b), there are some new reports available. Give them a try and let us know what you think (email comments to Pat Boze, pboze@lincolntrail.info)

Under Folder Shared Reports>Admin
•User List
Enter your location. Report lists current staff who have Horizon logins. If staff listed are no longer employed, notify the LTLS automation department so they can be deleted.

Under Folder Shared Reports>Admin
•Add & Delete Activity
Enter your location and a fiscal year. Report lists totals of bibs added/deleted, items added/deleted, borrowers added/deleted for the fiscal year, at your location.

Under Folder Shared Reports>Circulation>Borrowers
•Borrowers with no address
Enter your location. Report lists your borrowers that have no address in their patron record.

LINC FY2007 DRAFT COSTS

The FY2007 draft cost sheets for LINC libraries have been posted at:
http://www.ltls.org/linccommittees/ldg/mar2006fy2007costs.pdf

An email was sent to all LINC Directors Group representatives asking them to review data in these cost sheets and submit questions to Pat Boze, pboze@lincolntrail.info. A final version of the cost sheets will be posted by May 1.

We are setting up a Spanish version of LINCPAC. If you are a library with a LINCPac account and would like a one set up for your library, please email Pat Boze, pboze@lincolntrail.info.
