BIBLIOGRAPHIC ACCESS SERVICES: More About Serials of Illinois Libraries Online (SILO)

Member libraries create and maintain local data records in Serials of Illinois Libraries Online (SILO). These records contain a summary statement of a library's serial holdings. When a member library changes its serials holdings (e.g., deletes issues, deletes a serial title, adds a serial title, etc.), the library updates their data record in SILO to accurately reflect their current serials holdings.

By participating in SILO, Lincoln Trail libraries act cooperatively to strengthen resource sharing throughout Illinois, the United States, and the world.

Contact Donna Schaal, dschaa@lincolntrail.info, for further information about SILO.

LTLS policy states that each member library shall share periodical holdings and will participate in the LTLS Union List of Serials project, which involves taking part in Serials of Illinois Libraries Online (SILO).
